I would have thought plot is the architecture and the way in which you convey it, the interior decoration. But I’m not Hemingway and I love Hemingway which means I’m confused. ;-p
Yes, the words are the structure.
He’s saying that flowery words add nothing but distraction – what you need is a solid framework.
I agree, although, I think this is only one way to write. There is also room in this world for stories to be poetry in longform.
Now that Publishing is open and free, we don’t have to narrow our vision. All types of writing can come out and play.
I agree. Given Hemingway’s style his advice works well. And like you’ve said, and I do agree with this, poetry in longform is also necessary sometimes, and we have the freedom to explore that now. Thanks, I’m less confused now. ;-p
