I do things like get in a taxi and say, “The library, and step on it.”
David Foster Wallace
Waaa. I can’t wait to do this next time I’m in a cab.
That’s not plagiarism, is it?
I don’t do that; it would be silly. Around here, buying the book from Amazon is almost always cheaper than taxi fare. (And quicker, if there’s an ebook.)
I suppose I could get on a bus and tell the driver, ‘The library, and step on it,’ but it just wouldn’t be the same. Bus drivers don’t seem to take it kindly when you tell them to step on it.
