5 Facts You Should Know About Kindle Owners’ Lending Library

11 November 2011

From Ebook Friendly:

Kindle? Libraries? Some people may confuse it with borrowing Kindle ebooks from public libraries. It has nothing to do with it – it’s about borrowing Kindle books from Amazon – and not everyone can do it.

. . . .

Many users assume that new offer will apply to any Kindle book with lending option enabled. This would be great, but it’s not true. Only 5,000 books are available . . . . It’s less than 1% of what’s on offer in Kindle Store. Titles from biggest 6 publishers are not included yet.

If you want to find out which books are included, here are 3 ways to do it.

. . . .

Only Prime members who own Kindle devices (ereaders or Kindle Fire) will benefit. You can’t borrow and read from a website or Kindle application. So, if you are a Prime member and want to borrow a free ebook to a Kindle app on your iPad – you won’t be able to do it.

Your device has to be registered to the same account as Prime membership.

. . . .

You can keep a book as long as you want, but you won’t borrow more than one book per calendar month.
