J.R.R. Tolkien-Inspired Tattoos
From Flavorwire:
If you spent last night trying to sweet talk your way into a sold-out screening of The Hobbit, then you might not be surprised to hear that there are a ton of hardcore J.R.R. Tolkien fans out there. What we imagine might surprise you is how many of those fans, secretly tucked away under all of those layers of winter clothing, have inked permanent tributes to the beloved author on their skin.

Almost enough to make me get a tattoo…but not quite.
LOL
Ouch, I’m not a fan of tatoos in general. All I can think about is how much it would hurt to have your entire back or theighs tatooed.
On the other hand, the art work is very nice, and it’s better than getting a skull and crossbones or “Budweiser” tatooed on your arm.
Not for me.
I don’t want to be a walking billboard for some multinational corporation.
On the one hand, no doubt it would have been disgusting and horrifying to the author.
On the other hand, tattoos were a Norse thing, so there is some sort of genre consistency. Unlike most tattooed fandoms.
I always wonder about the age thing. Tattoo themes that would have seemed exceptionally cool to me in my 20′s would look positively stupid 30 years later.
Not to mention that the body parts you decorated would presumably look far less awesome 30 years later….
No way, man. My California Raisins tattoos still look awesome. Sure, they’re a little more wrinkly than raisins ought to be…
Wow. I was expecting some small, discreet symbol or something. The artwork is certainly impressive, but those are all definitely commitments.
I’m not a tatto person, but I do love the image of the white tree of Gondor done in white ink. That would be cool.
