Insanity is relative. It depends on who has who locked in what cage.
The sane are no fun and don’t come up with the crazy stuff that can keep a reader glued to a story for hours on end.
This is why pov is so very important…

Insanity is relative. You catch it from your family.
I think you’ll find it’s “who has WHOM locked in a cage”.
This may be true on a superficial level, where it probably means no more than eccentricity. But if you see someone who is really afflicted with it, you would begin to wonder why psychiatry is still not quite advanced enough to relieve them of such suffering.
Because humans are really really complex.
We still don’t know what “mind” is.
My own version of this sentiment:
Everyone’s crazy somehow. Some people just hide it better than others.
