Kindle Instant Book Previews

26 January 2016

From Amazon:

Do More Than Just Reference Your Favorite Book – Let The World Preview It For Free

We all know how easy it is to share our favorite pictures and videos online. Now you can just as easily share your favorite book with Kindle instant previews so anyone can start reading the book for free. With the Amazon Associates program, you can earn advertising fees from Kindle instant previews on your site or app!

How it works

Kindle instant previews can be embedded on the web or shared as a link via email, text and other favorite apps. Anyone can start reading the preview for free by clicking on the link, just like this example. The Kindle instant preview provides:2px-spacer

• Free content to keep traffic on your site

• Free access to a sample of the book

• Adjustable font sizes for the readers’ comfort

• Direct link to book purchase from Amazon

• Download link to get the free Kindle app

Link to the rest at Amazon and thanks to Bill and several others for the tip.

Here’s an embedded link to one of Mrs. PG’s books. You can click on it to read.

  1. I love the feature. Found out about it a week or two ago and installed it on my blog. I love that it goes direct to the reading app and includes a buy button. Amazon’s making it that much easier to part me from my book money.

  2. I put it on all of my books’ pages on my website last week! I bet they’re blocked by AdBlocker, though.

    • I just tried it out and Adblock Plus did not block your preview, though the window showing the text was quite small and I’d want to switch to the full screen mode to read a longer sample.

  3. Yes, I saw this in the last newsletter and tried it out. Once again Amazon is working to help me sell my books.

  4. I love this new feature! I shared the link version on FB yesterday and it worked really well.

  5. Just added mine to my site yesterday. It’s worth trying the option of having it open up in a new tab if you don’t like the page size when you have it open up within the iframe.

  6. Thanks for posting this! I didn’t know about it.

  7. I didn’t understand it when I got the email from Amazon yesterday. But with the further stimulus of reading this TPV post, I’ve now tried it and found that it works great.

  8. Slightly OT, but please tell Mrs. PG I love her cover. It’s very Poldark-evocative.

  9. I was shocked at how easy it was to install and worked.

Only problem I had was telling NoScript twice to let it work (one for each new page).

  10. Wow, I missed this feature. Thanks for posting it!

  11. I found about this yesterday and tried embedding on my WP website, and it won’t work. I emailed WP and they told me WP won’t allow those types of codes. So how did you get yours to work. I looked at your source and I see you had a widget with it. Where did you get your widget?

    Thanks,

    Sahara

  12. The preview worked on me! After reading a couple of the chapters, I bought the Kindle version. 😉
