Air Transport Services Group Confirms Deal with Amazon to Operate Air Transport Network

9 March 2016

From Seeking Alpha:

Air Transport Services Group, Inc. announced today agreements with Amazon Fulfillment Services, Inc., an affiliate of Amazon.com, Inc., to operate an air cargo network to serve Amazon customers in the United States.

. . . .

The commercial agreements will include the leasing of 20 Boeing 767 freighter aircraft to Amazon Fulfillment Services, Inc.

. . . .

“We offer Earth’s largest selection, great prices and ultra-fast delivery promises to a growing group of Prime members and we’re excited to supplement our existing delivery network with a great new provider, ATSG, by adding 20 planes to ensure air cargo capacity to support one and two-day delivery for customers,” said Dave Clark, Amazon senior vice president of worldwide operations and customer service.

In conjunction with the commercial agreements, ATSG also has agreed to grant Amazon warrants to acquire over a five-year period up to 19.9 percent of ATSG’s common shares.

PG has the mental image of a big 767 landing, rolling to a stop, then opening its doors so a huge flock of Amazon drones can fly out carrying packages.

  1. PG, why land? Install a tail ramp and drop the drones as you fly low over the city.

  2. If it stands between the goods Amazon offers for sale and its customers, you better believe there’s a target on it. Shipping companies, you’re up.

Can’t you just see Amazon adapting this

  4. Is it my imagination, or are vowels disappearing from words around here? PG, are you testing a plugin?

The vowels in yours, Gordon’s, Patricia’s, and Sabrina’s posts also have been kidnapped. The last couple of threads suddenly have this problem, too. Eenie Meeny Miney Moe. Just testing to see if the vowels disappear from this post.

    • The vowel-abductor seems to favor the vowel that comes between H and J.

    • The suspect vowel was present when posted. Now gone. Delayed fuse?

      Challenge to compose proper sentences.

      • Same. The brackets you see from my post show that you can’t make the HTML tag to slant the words. Suspect vowel held for ransom?

    • I’m going to go with it being your magnaton, though I didn’t know that ‘I’ was magnetic…

  5. DIsemboweled?

    Or dIsemvoweled??
