  1. Editor: I want a filler on this new Amazon store.

    Reporter: Like what?

Editor: I dunno. Why don’t you find out if millennials go there?

Reporter: How do I do that?

Editor: Fer chrissakes, do I have to do everything for you? Go downstairs, out on the street in front of our building, stop a handful of twenty-somethings, and ask them if they would go to the store.

Reporter: Maybe I could ask if they would choose the store instead of online.

Editor: Yeah. Good angle. Now grab a cameraman and get outa here.

  2. Interesting that they didn’t do the setup near one of the actual AMZN stores literally blocks away. Sounds like there was only one at the time of the interviews, but instead of asking “would you go?” why not set up at/near the store and ask: “have you gone?” or “will you go?” That’s how I would have done it.

Next time I’m there, I’ll be checking out the 34th Street store for sure.

  3. I’ll bet it gets more foot traffic than B&N, the first ‘step’ in getting a sale – oh wait, Amazon can make that sale even if the buyer doesn’t go to their little store …
