You may know why you are what you are without knowing what you are. That’s not pretty, Grasshopper.
For me, looking for the reasons has led to self-improvement. But that’s the nature of stabilizing out of mental illness. One either looks for reasons and works to improve those that aren’t conducive to mental stability, or submits to instability – and its many pitfalls – for the long term.
Except for when I’m not, at which time I’m acting as someone else.
(Now if only I or anyone else can tell the difference … 😛 )
