“You may smoke, sir. I like the smell of tobacco.”
I lit the cigarette and blew a lungful at him and he sniffed at it like a terrier at a rathole. The faint smile pulled at the shadowed corners of his mouth.

I like the scent of tobacco, especially the flavored ones. Used to hang out in a collector’s shop when I went to the local mall where I lived in NC just to breathe in the scent that leaked in from their tobacco room.
I hate the scent of tobacco smoke, especially from cigarettes.
My grandfather smoked cigars, but not usually when we were around. (The smoke itself would have bothered me, too.) I adored him, so I have pleasant associations with that cigar smell.
