I disagree. Wodehouse was brilliant. This quote is a mere symptom. I just pulled a book from my Wodehouse shelf (Carry On, Jeeves) and opened to a random page(115). “I saw Rocky grope feebly for the table. His fingers touched it and a look of relief came into the poor chappie’s face. I understood his feelings.” Brilliant.
