  1. Interesting. When I’m going through a public domain story, which I download as a text file, I’m basically looking for the formatting, odd-ball words and spellings. By the end, I understand the story without really reading it in the conventional sense. That being said, the original writers were good writers, the original editors were good editors, and that’s the only safety net.
