  1. Hah! ‘Ready Player One’ by Ernest Cline is up there on the most read list at no. 11.

I’m thrilled that a sci-fi book is up there, but I’m baffled as to why it’s there. Ready Player One is /old/, so what’s made it visible to readers again?

    • It’s not as old as Harry Potter, which seems like it’s never dropping off the charts 🙂

Also, the movie is out on early digital release and is about to hit DVD/Bluray. I imagine people are doing the same thing my husband and I did before it hit theaters: Reading the book the movie is based off.

      • Doh…I’m not much of a movie-goer so I didn’t even know it had been made into a movie. Might check out the Bluray when it comes out though. The book is one of my all time favourites.

        • Is the book all Spielberg all the time?
Cause in the movie the 80’s nostalgia is kimited to what he chose to highlight.

  2. I’m waiting for the most-read list to evolve. I gather it tracks what people read on their Kindles, devices which are barely a decade old, which suggests that folks range of choices to read will be mostly books published in the last 10 years. As personal eLibraries get larger and cover a wider period, I wonder what will show up as most-read.

    • Harry Potter is more than ten years old.
It will still be in the top twenty a hundred years from now and still under copyright.

As long as there are 10 years olds around Harry Potter will be on the list.
