For anyone who isn’t familiar with this series, humans are on an alien planet where many of the foods the natives eat are poisonous to them.
I had read several of C.J. Cherryh’s, but not that one I think … 😉

My own tale has a misplaced chef that will ‘burn’ anyone -even the captain – if they try to talk business while eating her meals. Spice fiends get to have so much fun! 😉
