The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and starting on the first one.

Mark Twain also said: “If a quote attributed to me sounds like something from a self-help book, I never said it.” But it’s good advice anyway.
(And, yes, when I compiled my quotebook, I found a lot of spurious quotes attributed to Twain.)
Good point, B.
I’m convinced that a lot of internet quote sites copy at least a few of their quotes from other internet quote sites.
I don’t know if the same thing has happened/does happen with pre-internet physical quote books, but wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case.
I just gave the following instruction to BingGPT:
“Create some things Mark Twain did not say, but in the style of Mark Twain.”
“I was educated once – it took me years to get over it. But then I realized that I could just watch YouTube videos instead.”
Ha! That actually works.
