I did back in 2002. But I couldn’t take knitting into an ER.
Can you knit on a plane at this point? Wouldn’t surprise me if some sort of (overzealous) regulation was in place regarding knitting needles.

Which is why I use wooden interchangeable needles and put the actual tips in with the handful of pens that live in my purse. Then I put them back on the cable once I want to knit again.
