My department knows a trick worth two of that. With properly trained publishers, we can prevent them all.
Oh, there will still be lists of bestsellers, but the numbers of actual books sold will be too small to affect anything but the author’s ego; and authors are delusional already. Even now, how many of the so-called bestsellers on the Times list would have cracked the same list with the same numbers forty years ago? We have the matter well in hand.
