  1. Well, PG, it is true that I am not a Roman Emperor, nor am I ever likely to be – a fact for which my wife and son should be profoundly grateful (being rather a traditionalist, I would need to have them executed…).

    I don’t recall the quote from the historical tomes that I have consumed, but it sounds legitimate. Probably uttered just before he crossed the Alps to invade Italy, when all of his advisors were telling him “Numquam pugnam a terra bellum in peninsula.”
