True confession time: I never know where a book is going. I get a gut feeling the story is there, then pursue it with the enthusiasm of a hunting tiger on a trail. If I knew where I was going, I’d get bored out of my mind and stop writing.

Funny, but I can relate to that. I thought my first book was going to be maybe six little chapters – around chapter seventeen I did a word count and found it was already past a quarter of a million words (thank the deities for computers to save all the trees I would have thrown away getting that far – and the internet so it could stay and be moved in bits and not paper, ink and diesel fumes! 😉 )
