PG is sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings and promises they will soon stop appearing here.
Two days ago, PG was diagnosed with pneumonia. He’s on appropriate medications and not in the hospital, but this illness is draining almost all energy from his body and mind.
He’ll be back soon, maybe with some insights into coughing. His coughing/speaking minutes ratio the past couple of days has been about 900/1.
UPDATE: PG is supposed to be the guy who helps other people with their problems, not the one who needs help from other people.
He pretty much learned that from his father, who was an exemplar of service to all and died at the age of 82 immediately after shoveling snow from the sidewalk of his church.
That’s why he’s more conflicted than he would be otherwise.
Rest. Popsicles help keep you hydrated when nothing else stays down. A body that’s been under as much stress has yours has recently, requires a time of rest and recuperation and will force you to get it one way or another. Sending best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Everybody else: We got the house to ourselves! Let’s PARTY! And by party, I mean talk books and Amazon and stuff. I have apricot jam. Anybody have scones or tea? Maybe a nice glass of sherry? Let’s start this party!
I like the way you think, Kat! I’ll bring the scones and the top-shelf tea 😀 But we can also boil a chicken carcass for the really good chicken soup for PG, and bring him some carefully curated (see what I did there?) books that are fun but will not make him laugh too much and start coughing. Maybe some comic books and a flashlight, for the nostalgia of it all?
This crowd? We’re going to end up with a chicken soup buffet, given the many disparate influences and independent spirit.
I’ll bring my mother’s Chicken Noodle Soup of Doom +2, and some garlic bread. (She called it something else in Spanish, but that’s what the geeks in the dorms named it.)
I suppose I should probably mention that my grandmother firmly believed the best way to deal with chest congestion (and pretty much any other ailment, including rashes or sprained ankles) was to include generous amounts of honey, lemon, and whiskey in the tea…
I’ll bring chicken lemon rice soup. The lemon gives it a nice kick, and it’s Grandma-approved …
Rest easy, PG!
I’m bringing the Cuban guava pastries and espresso. PARTAAAY!
I’m still recovering from pneumonia I got at the beginning of April. Definitely not fun. Quite a few of my relatives and friends have had it recently, and from what I hear it takes about three months on average to get back to normal.
Make sure you get plenty of rest, plenty of fluids.
Feel better.
Take care, rest, get better. 🙂
Pneumonia is nothing to scoff at. Please take those antibiotics and REST. Praying for a speedy recovery.
Take the time to heal, body and soul. Sending you a great big e-pot of chicken noodle soup to aid in your recovery.
Take all the time you need. Hope you get better soon.
Ouch! Get well soon!
Get better. I had it once too, and it’s no fun.
Best healing wishes to you, PG.
Get well soon.
Yikes is right. Get better, PG.
Been there done that. Please take good care. We need you.
Hope you feel better soon!
Feel better soon! Pneumonia is no fun.
Good wishes, PG. Please take care of yourself and feel better soon. Likewise, I too have been there, done that with pneumonia.
I’ve been there. Twice. It’s incredibly frustrating, but do try to let yourself heal as slowly as necessary. I suspect there’s a large stack of books nearby to keep you distracted. Feel better!
Feel better. Warm mist to help breathing. Been there.
Yes! With beneficial respiratory essential oils like camphor, menthol, eucalyptus, cypress, myrtle and bay leaf. Works wonders year round.
Been there recently. Godspeed.
Very sorry to hear that, PG. Please do take good care of yourself.
Rest. Get well.
