So glad to see these Satchel Paige quotes. He is one of my heroes.
I just want to know what was the subject of conversations Satchel Paige had with “junk ball” pitcher Gaylord Perry.
“Junk ball” is in reference to Gaylord Perry liking anything that could change the way a pitch behaved: sandpaper, vaseline, pine tar, razor blades…
And his expertise at concealing his instrument of “change(up).”
