When it rains . . .

This content has been archived. It may no longer be accurate or relevant.

PG discovered what may be a hack of one of his non-important accounts on a commercial website this morning (nothing to do with The Passive Voice). He has been scurrying around to batten down all his electronic hatches, change passwords, etc., etc. to make certain nothing spreads.

He is waiting for one response to make certain the last hatch is secure.

PG apologizes for falling behind with posts and will do some catching up in between bouts of paranoia.

  1. The fact that you’re back to the blog after your family trauma of last week … it boggles the mind.

  2. “PG apologizes for falling behind with posts and will do some catching up in between bouts of paranoia.”

It’s not paranoia if they’re really out to get you!

  3. I hope for your sanity that you are using a password manager, instead of reusing the same password.

Also, there is a very useful service, by security expert Troy Hunt, that warns you when your email/account has been found in a hack:

    • Having “password” as your universal password works. Just ask the millions of people who use it! 🙂

      Ditto for “1234”.

  4. youre doing fine. many of us this week have found either security failed or antivirus not updated or os lagging. Hang in there

  5. PG, send me your credit card number(s) along with expiration date and security code. Also enclose your Social Security number along with your mother’s maiden name and the name of your favorite pet. I will take very good care of everything. I promise.
